Looking forward to baron rating Stroud Maris Otter Vintage Ale 2011

I've got a soft spot for Stroud Brewery, Budding was one of the first ales that we audio baron rating (back in Jan 2010 and again in June 2011). We liked the branding & we enjoyed the beer.

They recently got in touch offering to send me some of their Maris Otter Vintage Ale 2011 -  brewed using an exclusive batch of 100% Organic Maris Otter barley malt and English Organic First Gold hops.

Yet another beautiful bottle from Stroud

I read about Adventure Brewery recently via the excellent CAMRGB website, their beers looked good and sounded really interesting. I got in touch and they offered to send their range for review:

Adventure Brewery

• East - 6.6% 1861 IPA with New Zealand hops, smooth yet bitter IPA was originally from an 1860's London brewery brought back to life with a new twist
• North - 4.5% 1870 amber ale with English hops, an almost forgotten beer style originally brewed in 1870 rejuvenated with a blend of English hops
• South - 5% 1880 bitter with Australian hops, best bitter adapted from a London brewery in 1880. Bringing together a subtle & delicate balance of English malt and the New World zing of Australian hops
• West - 5.8% 1834 porter with American hops, rich & complex porter adapted from an 1834 recipe by a Norfolk brewery brings together deeply roasted malts balanced with sharp & satisfying American hops

It's been a while since some samples have arrived at Baron Towers (sob sob) so it was a very welcome surprise when FedEx showed up bright and breezy this morning with an unexpected box of ales from Best of British Beer:

• Arbor Brigstow Bitter - 4.3% easy drinking tawny best bitter with a malty taste.Bittering hops are Challenger with Fuggles and Goldings for flavour and aroma
• Bristol Beer Factory Southville Hop [baron rating 5/5] - 6.5% American inspired IPA
• Ilkley Jubilee - 4.5% pale ale brewed with English malted barley,hops from Kent, Australia & New Zealand (all part of the Commonwealth)

• Leeds Hellfire - 5.2% fiery pale bitter, fruity well balanced beer with a full, lasting bitterness
• Teme Valley The Hop Nouvelle - 4.1% exceptionally pale beer,brewed using green Worcestershire hops within an hour of picking
• Windsor & Eton Conqueror [baron rating 5/5] - 5% black IPA, rich, complex & very distinctive ale, roasted flavours balanced with full fresh pine hop aroma
